A key player at Pearl Harbor, the USS Lexington is the 5th ship of its kind to carry that name, in memory of the Battle of Lexington during the Revolutionary War. After its prolific career, the carrier became a museum that highlights the function and history of naval aviation and battles, and showcases its legacy and tale.
Whataburger Field
This professional minor league baseball stadium is home to the Double-A affiliate Corpus Christi Hooks. It is also home to the Corpus Christi Islanders and is associated with the Houston Astros. The stadium is located right along the waterfront area of the city. The place is also popular for housing one of the biggest baseball bronze statues in the world, “For the Love of the Game.”
South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center
If you are in the mood for peace and serenity, this is the place to go. The South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center is a 180-acre garden that is not only immaculately maintained but also showcases exotic and domestic species of colorful flowers. Being a nature conservatory, the garden also maintains a wide array of exotic parrots, a butterfly house, hiking trails, a reptile room, and a wetland area. There’s even a dedicated area for kids to play, run, and have fun.
Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History
Why not learn something new and interesting while you are on your fishing trip? Established in 1957, this museum showcases hundreds of thousands of artefacts.
